Here are answers to some common questions. 

General Training Questions

  • What platform do you use for virtual training?

    We prefer ZOOM, but are flexible based on your needs and have used, Adobe Connect, Teams,

    WebEx, Go to Meeting.

  • Will the courses lead to a Certification?

    The SAFe, and PMI Disciplined Agile and PMP courses: after passing the exam the student will be

    granted certification from PMI or SAFe. The exam fees are included in the course fee. Agile

    Transformational will provide a certification of completion for all other courses.

  • Are the courses available on-demand?

    Yes.

    Except for the SAFe, PMP Exam Prep, and PMI DA courses as the certification body will not

    permit this.

  • Are PDU’s available for the courses?

    Yes, where specified.

  • Is there post-training support?

    Yes.

    Through a closed SLACK group, email to the trainer, LinkedIn Group, and LinkedIn messaging to the trainer.

    A summary email will be sent after each session recapping the key items covered in the session. Included in the PMP exam training, approximately two weeks after the last session is a 2 hour round table Q&A.

  • Can the course be customized for our Organization?

    Yes.

    Based on an initial consult we can customize the course and participants' workbook.

    We also like to use the participant's project/products for most of the exercises to lessen the gap between the training and the real projects.

  • Is Coaching and Consulting available?

    Yes.

    Agile and Project Management Coaching or Consulting are available. Please check our site.

Scrum Roles

  • What are the Scrum Roles?

    Scrum has 3 roles the Scrum Master, Product Owner, and Development Team. We can develop a custom course focusing on any of these roles. We also offer SAFe certification courses including SAFe for Teams. SAFe for Product Owners/Managers and SAFe for Scrum Masters and PMI Disciplined Agile Scrum Master and Senior Scrum Master certification courses.

  • What happens to the PM and BA when we transition to Scrum?

    Most Project Managers can segue.to the role of Scrum Master with proper training and providing they are willing to give-up detailed plans and command and control. A BA with training can easily move into the role of a Product Owner.

  • What are the Scrum Events?

    Our Introduction to Agile Scrum provides a comprehensive understanding of each of these events.


    Backlog Refinement ~ 1 hr. Purpose - Draft User Stories and Finalized User and Technical

    Stories. Value - Product Backlog & Team are ready for Sprint Planning.


    Sprint Planning ~ 4 hrs. Purpose -Ranked Product Backlog with Acceptance Criteria Value: Team has a plan to implement Sprint Backlog.


    Daily Standup/ Scrum ~ 15 min Purpose - to understand the Completed Tasks, In-progress Tasks any Impediments Value - Team members on the same page regarding the Sprint progress and impediments.


    Sprint Review ~ 1 hr. Purpose - Demo of completed stories Value - Ensure appropriateness of deliverables.


    Sprint Retrospective ~1 hr. Purpose - Shortlist of improvements for next Sprint, Value - Learn from experience, enable continuous improvement.

  • What are the Scrum Artifacts?

    There are 3 Artifacts associated with Scrum, including Product backlog, Sprint Backlog, and

    the Potentially Shippable Backlog. We can help configure and set up your backlog with Epics,

    Features, Stories, and Tasks?

  • What is the Scrum Certification Body, Certifications, and the Steps to become certified?

    The main Scrum Certification Body in Scrum Alliance which can lead to two key certifications

    Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).

Kanban

  • What is Kanban?

    Kanban literally means “signboard”, “billboard”, or “signal card” in Japanese. It is a framework that balances demands for work with available capacity using WIP limits and a pull system. It provides a simple method for visualizing, measuring, and optimizing the flow of work but a crux of Kanban is the ongoing improvement of your existing process. We offer a Dynamic Kanban

    course and can also offer 2 12-hour virtual session which leads to a certification from Lean Kanban University.

SAFe

  • What is the Scaled Agile Framework?

    The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a set of organization and workflow patterns intended to guide enterprises in scaling lean and agile practices. It is the dominant way to scale agile teams. We offer several SAFe certification courses including SAFe for Teams, Leading SAFE, SAFE for Scrum Masters, SAFe for Product  Owners/Managers course and can also offer 2 12-hour virtual session which leads to a certification from Lean Kanban University.

PMI ACP

  • Is PMI-ACP going away?

    No.

    PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) ®  Certification is part of the PMI suite of course/

    certifications they have developed to support Organization Agility.  ACP Certification carries a high level of professional integrity as it is a combination of Agile training working on Agile

    projects and examining Agile fundamentals and tools.

  • What is the PMI ACP Certification Body, Certifications, and Steps to become certified?

    We offer 1-8 hour on-demand or 6 3-hour virtual training sessions to prepare you to pass the PMI ACP exam the first time.

    To become ACP certification eligible, you will need a University/College degree, 21 contact hours of training in Agile practices, 12 months of PM experience, and 8 months of Agile experience.

  • What if I have the PMI-ACP certification, should I pursue an additional agile certification?

    In the Agile Certification Journey, there’s still an opportunity for those with the PMI-ACP

    certification to further specialize in agile. For example, the Disciplined Agile Senior Scrum Master is an ideal certification for those with the PMI-ACP certification.

PMI Disciplined Agile

  • What is Disciplined Agile?

    Disciplined Agile is a toolkit that harnesses hundreds of Agile practices to guide you to the best

    way of working for your team or organization.

  • Can professionals take a Disciplined Agile exam without completing the training workshop?

    No.

    Individuals must complete the instructor-led or on-demand training workshop to take the exam. Once they complete the workshop, they will receive the eligibility code needed to schedule their exam.


    Currently, Disciplined Agile certifications require professionals to earn 7 PDUs per year. The PDU requirement for the PMI-ACP will remain the same as it stands today: 30 PDUs every three years.

PMI PMP

  • When is the PMP Exam Changing?

    It will change on January 1, 2021.

  • What are the Domains for the new PMP Exam?

    The new PMP exam will be based on three domains, which are outlined in the new ECO. They are:

    • People: Emphasizes the skills and activities associated to effectively lead a project team (conflict management, team building, mentoring, etc.).
    • Process: Reinforces the technical aspects of managing a project (scope management, schedule management, cost management, etc.).
    • Business Environment: Highlights the connection between projects and organization strategy (benefits delivery and management, organizational change management, etc.).
  • How much should I focus on the Agile aspects for the new PMP exam?

    Agile is 50% of the exam so you will need to have a sound knowledge of Agile approaches.

  • Will the new PMP exam include Disciplined Agile-related questions since it covers hybrid and agile approaches?

    The PMP exam will cover a variety of hybrid and Agile approaches, assuring candidates have enough understanding of these approaches, but it will not cover Disciplined Agile-related questions.
